Mehran Avakh Keysami was born on August 27th, 1971 in Astaneh Ashrafieh City, Gillan Province, Iran. He completed his primary and high school education in Astaneh Ashrafieh. He received his Bachelor of Science (B. Sc), in field of Natural Resources Engineering, with specialisation in Aquaculture from the Gorgan University of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Iran, under granting Iran Government (MSRT), in 1993. He then joined Oman Sea Fishery Research Centre in Chabahar, Iran as a Research Officer. During his 5 years experience at research centre, he was exposed to various activities in the field of aquaculture and marine biology. He was granted a scholarship by Iran Government (MSRT) to pursue a full time M. Sc programme in 1998 at Tarbiat Modarres University (TMU) in field of Fishery Science. After that he joined to institute of technical and vocational higher education, Department of Fisheries, Bushehr, Iran as lecturer. He also collaborated in some aquaculture and marine research activities during 6 years cooperation with this institute Upon he was granted a scholarship by Malaysia Government (MTCP) to pursue his Ph.D in field of Aquaculture Biotechnology in UPM in 2002. The author has experienced in breeding of shellfish and fish, larviculture, nursery, grow out and various aspects of aquaculture especially Aquaculture Biotechnology. Based on research carried out during his study in Doctor of Philosophy degree, he also published 10 ISI articles and 17 in conferences and achieved 2 international gold medals and 1 international silver medal for Ph. D research products. He has to date published 130 articles in local Persian journals and conference proceedings and two books. He has delivered more than 96 seminars in different workshops, seminars and conferences at local and International level. He has been awarded 2 International gold medal and 1 international silver medal, member of Iranian elite foundation, best oral presentation of Iranian Aquatic and seafood conference 2011, best project in Iran national innovation, best project in Bushehr province 2011, best researcher in Bushehr province 2009, best researcher in Bushehr province 2010, best researcher in Bushehr province 2011, best Iranian researcher 2012, Bushehrian Distinguished university lecturer 2009, best researcher of Iranian Aquatic and seafood conference 2012, best national researcher of Iranian Applied University 2012, awards. He has also been awarded Prize & Gold Medal for his good quality research. He has been Editor of the proceedings and Journals. He has been member of different national and International societies and acting as a referee for a number of International journals.
He has been supervising M.SC and Ph.D. students under the indigenous universities program of IRI. Recently he joined as lecturer to the Department of Fisheries, Mirza kochek khan higher education Centre, Agriculture institute of technical and vocational higher education, University of Applied Science and Technology (UAST), Rasht, Guilan, Iran.
